Symptoms |
|
In the Double-Take software, on the Double-Take Management Console, a red X appears on the PrinergyJobs replication and the status is Mirror Required.
A remirror or reconnection of the replication set clears the symptoms, but they reappear after a few hours. The files listed in the error log are intact and identical to the files on the main tertiary server.
|
|
Cause |
|
The Double-Take Target State Awareness feature introduced in version 4.5 detects the target state incorrectly and changes the connection state to Mirror Required.

Solution |
|
Upgrade the Double-Take software on the backup tertiary server.
Note: You may also upgrade the main tertiary server to the same version as the backup tertiary server.
- Download the DT4.5.1.1904.9.S compressed installer, and extract the installer files, preserving the path information.
- Record the Double-Take Activation Code on the backup tertiary server.
- Disconnect the PrinergyJobs replication set.
- Close the Double-Take Management Console (DTMC) and Failover Control Center (FCC) on the backup tertiary server if running.
- Remove the Double-Take software by selecting Start > Settings > Control Panel > Add or Remove Programs. Restart the server.
- Map a drive to the root of the installer files that you extracted in step 1.
Note: You may use either the subst command or Map Network Drive in Windows Explorer (Tools > Map Network Drive).
- Reinstall the Double-Take software, using the procedure in Section 2.7 (Installing Double-Take Phase 2) of EPM and Hot Standby (EPM Plus) Emergency Platemaking and NSI Double-Take Installation and Operation.
Note: You must restart the server after completing the procedure.
- Locate <system drive>\Program Files\DoubleTake\creo\bin and perform the following steps:
- Open the EnableSFM.BAT file in Notepad.
- Locate the following line:
%programfiles%\DoubleTake\chngname.exe /s source_name
- Change
source_name to be the name of the main tertiary server.
- Save the file.
- Start the replication, using the procedure in Section 2.9 (Starting Replication) of EPM and Hot Standby (EPM Plus) Emergency Platemaking and NSI Double-Take Installation and Operation. At step 7, on the Mirroring tab of the Connection Manager dialog box, select the following settings:
- Full Mirror
- Select Remirror on Auto-Reconnect
- File Differences with no Checksum
- Set up the tertiary server for failover, using steps 1 to 9 in Section 4 (Tertiary Failover Setup) of EPM and Hot Standby (EPM Plus) Emergency Platemaking and NSI Double-Take Installation and Operation.
- Confirm in the DTMC that the Mirror Required symptom no longer occurs during PrinergyJobs replication.
