Kodak^® Prinergy^® Connect^™ versions 3.x and 4.x

Symptoms

A user opens the config file for the Kodak Preps^® software at \AraxiPreps\Profiles\PrepsPrinergy\PrepsPrinergy.cfg.template, and enters a different default bleed size for their Preps jobs. The standard is .125 in.

For example,
-METRIC_BLEED_MARGIN:5.6693
or
-AMERICAN_BLEED_MARGIN:9.0000.

The user (or a different user) then creates a new imposition from a Prinergy job for the first time, but Prinergy ignores the new bleed settings in the Preps config file.

Cause

Prinergy uses the SSILaySpecs line in the Prinergy code instead of using the Preps config file for the default bleed margin.

Solution

You can simply change the bleed margin in the layout details.

Alternatively, you can cancel the job and create another job in Preps by selecting File > New Job. The new job (and all subsequent jobs created in Preps) uses the default bleed settings in the Preps config file.
