These messages repeat over and over.

Symptoms

Many error messages appear in the diagnostic logs when a file is being refined. The log files increase in size rapidly, and the performance of the Normalizer JTP is very poor. It often takes 10 times longer than normal to refine a file.

Cause

A Microsoft® Windows® operating system problem causes the Normalizer code to ignore its own debug‑level registry entries, and simply turns everything on. The reason is not known.

The problem occurs on customer computers that are not updated with Windows security patches.

Solution

From a Web browser, go to http://www.update.microsoft.com/ and apply all the Windows security patches to all computers in the Prinergy system.

This problem may be fixed in the .NET Framework 1.1 SP1 update, but all updates should be applied due to other security issues.
