Prinergy Evo Demo Mode, Prinergy Evo with an Existing Dongle, and Shared Servers

There are three different ways to get Prinergy Evo. This page outlines the system requirements and steps for obtaining a demo mode version of Prinergy Evo, using Prinergy Evo with an existing dongle, or using one of the shared servers.

Option 1: Prinergy Evo demo mode

Demonstration mode is a fully functional version of Prinergy Evo that does not require a dongle. It allows sales, technical consultants, and existing customers to install Prinergy Evo on their laptops or test systems for demonstration and testing purposes. Prinergy Evo demo mode is not intended for use in production and generated files are watermarked. For more information about the system requirements and installation steps, see the Prinergy Evo Demo Mode Release Notes .

Although demo mode does not require a dongle, it does require a license key to activate the software. Internal users can retrieve the latest Prinergy Evo software from TechPlanet, while customers can download it from eCentral or the Prinergy Evo Update Manager.

Note about generating demo mode keys for customers:

Demo mode keys may be generated for customers requesting a demo license to try a version of the Prinergy Evo software newer than what they currently own. Demo mode keys may not be generated for customers who do not own Prinergy Evo at the time of the license request.

To create a time-limited license key:

  1. Browse to EPS Licensing on TechPlanet: http://techplanet.creo.com/licensing/nav/index.htm
  2. In the left navigation pane, click Generate temporary license key.
  3. Under the Product List, click Workflow Systems> Prinergy Evo > Generate a Temp Key.
  4. Click Key Request.
  5. Enter dongle number C01828.

It will display as an “internal dongle.”

  6. From the Region list, select the appropriate region.
  7. From the Reason list, select Internal Demo.
  8. Click Continue.
  9. In the Customer Name and Customer ID boxes, type the customer details.
  10. Click Generate Key.

The Results window appears with a new demo mode key.

Option 2: Prinergy Evo with an existing dongle

If you already have a copy of Prinergy Evo with a dongle, you can use that same dongle with version 3.x. For the latest Prinergy Evo software, go to the Prinergy Evo 3.2 Downloads page. However, you need to order a new time-limited Prinergy Evo 3.x license key. Please consider using Prinergy Evo demo mode if you do not already have a dongle.

To order a time-limited license key:

  1. Request a Prinergy Evo license key.
  2. From the Key Type list, select Internal.
  3. In the Dongle Serial # box, type the dongle number, using the Cxxxxx format.
  4. From the Product and version list, make a selection.
  5. In the rest of the form, fill in the appropriate fields that you require.
  6. In the License option list, select the Prinergy Evo configuration that you require.
  7. Click Generate License Key.

Option 3: Prinergy Evo’s shared servers

Prinergy Evo’s shared servers enable you to install the Prinergy Evo Client software (version 1.2.6.3 and later) on your Windows or Macintosh computer and run it without installing the server software. This option does not require a dongle. For more information, see the following sections.
