Error |
The disk image, PrinergyEvoClientOsX.img, fails to mount with an error of The following disk images failed to mount with a reason Permission denied. Note that this problem ONLY happens on Mac OS 10.3.X (Mac OS 9 and 10.2.X are fine). |
Symptoms |
Mount the PgyEvoInstll shared folder on the Mac OS 10.3.X from the Prinergy Evo Server computer. When you open the PgyEvoInstll volume, and double-click PrinergyEvoClientOsX.img, the error occurs. |
Cause |
Mac OS 10.3.X has changed the way disk images are handled; disk images must now be opened from a location that has read/write permissions. Since the PgyEvoInstll share does not have write permissions, the disk mount fails. The decision to make the PgyEvoInstll share read only was to ensure that the contents would not be inadvertently corrupted. |
Solution |
Upgrade to Mac OS 10.4 X. Alternatively, copy the disk image PrinergyEvoClientOsX.img to a location that has read/write permissions. For example, the Macintosh desktop. |
