Upgrading to Prinergy Evo from a Delta and submitting TIFF files to Print Console can cause multiple separations and jobs to appear in Print Console during Spectrum proofing

Product

  • Prinergy® Evo (all versions)
  • Trendsetter® Spectrum
  • Print Console

Operating system

Microsoft® Windows® 2000 Server

Symptoms

Multiple separations and jobs appear in Print Console for Trendsetter Spectrum proofs when outputting TIFF files from Prinergy Evo.

For each file submitted from Prinergy Evo, Print Console attaches 3 blank separation files.

Cause

The Delta™ to Trendsetter Spectrum workflow consists of a composite workflow. Therefore, in the Print Console, Configuration window, Print Setup panel, Separation tab, the four process colors and any spot colors were mapped to the relevant Device colors.

The Prinergy Evo to Trendsetter Spectrum workflow consists of a separated TIFF workflow. Therefore, if the Delta's Print Console Configuration, Separation tab settings are migrated to the upgraded Print Console, when you try to image a separated TIFF file, Print Console adds the additional color separations mapped in the Separation tab to the output process.

Solution

  1. In Print Console, click Configuration.

  2. Click the Print Setup panel.

  3. In the Separations tab, make sure that there are no color separations listed.

  4. If there are color separations listed, select each separation and click Delete.
