Symptoms |
For Preps PDF-PDF jobs, Prinergy Evo takes a very long time to open the Process Start window after you submit a populated portable job ticket format file (PJTF) or job definition format file (JDF) with an ICS mark in the PDF marks file. |

Cause |
The ICS file has a very large number of image mask calls. When submitted as a PDF rather than PostScript in a PDF marks file, Prinergy Evo reviews the whole document to determine the colorants of each image mask. For example, in one case, there were 122,000 image mask calls, and Prinergy Evo took up to 45 minutes to display the Process Start window. |

Solution |
Do not use ICS marks on a template in Preps to be used with a PDF-PDF job. Creo should have an alternative for PDF-PDF jobs in the future. | ||
