Files disappear from hot folder completion subfolders

Product

Kodak® Prinergy® Evo™ 3.x .

Symptoms

Prinergy Evo may delete files from hot folders even though the Data Retention dialog box has been set to keep files for a very long time. This may also happen even if individual hot folders are not configured to delete input files.

Cause

There is a disagreement between the Prinergy Evo Client software and the server. The Prinergy Evo Server software may ignore the default number that displays in the Data Retention dialog box.

Solution

In the Keep files for __ hours box in the Data Retention dialog box, type a new number that's a long period, such as 30000. Alternatively, perform the following:

  1. Create a deliver files process template that makes a copy of the input file by specifying a location outside of the hot folder.
  2. Assign the deliver files process template to the hot folder by selecting Configure > Hot Folders in the Process Viewer. When you're done, you should have two process templates associated with the hot folder: the deliver files process template and the original process template that was assigned.

The fix should be available after Prinergy Evo 4.0.
