Magnus platesetter will not image two plates simultaneously when using Prinergy Evo

Product

All versions of Kodak® Prinergy® Evo™

Symptoms

The Kodak Magnus™ platesetter will not image two plates at a time when using the Prinergy Evo software.

Cause

The 3017 CPSI RIP has a queuing mechanism that passes only one separation at a time to the output device.

Solution

Until an official fix is available, users can change the plate queuing method by changing the Prinergy Evo configuration file.

  1. On the Prinergy Evo server computer, use Microsoft® Windows® Explorer to navigate to the following file:
    <hard drive>\Program Files\Kodak
    (or Creo)\Prinergy Evo (version number) <EvoHome>\config_data\System\common\config.txt
  2. Using Notepad, in the “Common configuration settings” section, type,
    Jasper.GDEN.GDEN_QueueGDAPIJobsAsSurfaces=true
  3. Save the file.
  4. Restart the Prinergy Evo Server software.
