Symptoms

With certain combinations of linescreen and resolution, lines per inch (lpi) may be significantly lower than what you requested in the process template.

The large shift in lpi may reduce the chance of encountering moirés across very large format (VLF) plates.

Solution

You can add additional screens that are closer to the linescreen originally selected in the process template. The following procedure adds a large number of additional screens that are currently named Dolev to the existing list of screen systems.

For now, this workaround should be treated as beta. If customers want to use this procedure, ensure they know its beta status. This setting may produce undesired results for some resolution and linescreen combinations.

1. Using Microsoft^® Windows^® Explorer, locate the following file on the Prinergy Evo server computer:
   
   <hard drive> \Program Files\Kodak\Prinergy Evo <version>\config_data\System\common\config.txt.
   


2. Using Notepad, type the following at the bottom of the file:
   
   # Enable DOLEV screens
   
   # SCDV.screen_version enables Dolev screen sets and relaxes moire constraint, allowing frequencies close to nominal, to emulate Brisque more closely. (1=off, 2=Dolev Screening on)
   Jasper.SCDV.screen_version=2
   


3. Save the file.
   
   
4. Restart the Prinergy Evo Server software.
