Problems running Prinergy Evo after installing Symantec Endpoint Protection version 11 [82207]

  • All versions of Kodak® Prinergy® Evo™

Symptoms

  
  • Cannot install a font with AFP to Kodak® Prinergy® Connect™ or Prinergy Evo.
  • Cannot connect Apple® Mac OS® 9 to AppleTalk® virtual printers shared from Prinergy Evo.
  • Cannot find Prinergy Connect or Prinergy Evo server names from the Chooser in Mac OS 9.

Cause

   If Network Threat Protection in Symantec® Endpoint Protection 11 is enabled during installation, AFP connections from Mac OS 9 will be blocked.

Solution

  

Perform one of the following:

  • During installation, disable Network Threat Protection.
  • If Symantec Endpoint Protection 11 is already installed, stop the Symantec Management Client service on the Prinergy Evo server computer.
  • Connect to the AFP shares and AppleTalk virtual printers using the IP address of the server.
