Persistent JICCProfileServerD failure error message

Product

Kodak® Prinergy® Evo™ 4.0.6.6 and earlier and Kodak Proofing Software

Error

In Prinergy Evo, you may see the following error:

Persistent JICCProfileServerD failure. The system will be stopped.

Symptoms

JICCProfileServerD daemon fails to start. The user will be unable to start Prinergy Evo.

Cause

This error appears when the following occurs:

  1. The Kodak Matchprint® Inkjet Desktop proofer or
Kodak Veris™ digital proofer referenced in the Prinergy Evo Administrator has been renamed, shut down, or removed.
  2. The user has installed the automatic profile synchronization script (KPS-Profile-Synch.vbs) in the ICC-Profiles folder. The daemon is trying to copy ICC and DVL profiles that are now unavailable.

Solution

There are two possible solutions:

  • Remove and then add the proofer in the Prinergy Evo Administrator.
  • Before restarting Evo, turn on the proofer controller if it was originally turned off.
