Prinergy Evo is an entry-level, PDF front-end, workflow solution targeted at 4-up and smaller 8-up commercial print market. 

Overall, Prinergy Evo is a PDF-based prepress workflow that organizes prepress and plate production. Prinergy Evo supports tasks such as trapping, proofing, imposition, and film-making, and platemaking of single page and imposition PostScript and PDF files.

Prinergy Evo is a client/server system, meaning there can be many client workstations running off one server. In a client/server system, client and server machines work together to perform the processing of an application. The client software sends a request to the server software, which initiates the requested service, then sends the relevant information back to the client software.

Prinergy Evo allows submission, processing, proofing and output of single pages and impositions, in JDF and PJTF format.

Prinergy Evo is designed for simple, automated operation from the desktop, featuring:

• Hot folder
• LPR printer
• AppleTalk printer
• Drag and drop palette

Prinergy Evo runs on Windows 2000 Server, with a Mac OS 9.2.x or Mac OS X 10.2 and higher, Windows 2000 Server, or Professional, and Windows 2003 Server and Professional client interface.

• March 2nd, 2005: Prinergy Evo 1.2 was released to Gate 6.
• November 18th, 2004: Prinergy Evo 1.2 was released to Gate 4 (formerly known as beta).

Status reports

• Prinergy Evo is Creo's newest Digital Front-End (DFE) product. Prinergy Evo is based on Prinergy's PDF processing JTP's and is very stable for a new product. Prinergy Evo is delivered as a client/server system. Prinergy Evo can both refine PDF and output to proof, plate, or film (not all capabilities are available in all Prinergy Evo configurations). A number of innovations have been included in the product to make it easier to install, support and upgrade.
