UmaxSOHO-USB04 Four-Port USB Hub recommended for use with PS/M 8.0

We recommended the use of the UMAXSOHO-USB04 FOUR-Port USB hub after successful test results were achieved with PS/M 8.0a11 using RIP, FAF, and InkPro USB software access keys (HASP4-type).

The following Macintosh platforms were tested:

• Mac G4—450 MHz
• Mac G4—500 MHz (dual processor)
• Mac G4—1000 MHz (dual processor)
• Mac G4—1250 MHz (dual processor)

The following tests were performed with the RIP, FAF, and InkPro software access keys on each platform using both the keyboard USB port and the USB port located on the rear of the Mac:

1. Making sure that each software access key worked when used in all four ports of the hub.
2. Checking that the PS/M 8 application recognizes:
   1. that an access key is connected.
   2. all of the access keys together on the hub (this determines that the RIP, FAF, InkPro, and PDF2Go operations are functional).
   3. a few access keys that are connected together on the hub.
