  • Synapse® EyeMedia

Platform

Operating system

All operating systems

Symptoms

The 1.0.3 release of Synapse TeamWorks/EyeMedia Administration has the following limitations:

  • One user license is taken up by running Synapse Desktop on the server.
  • New staff users must be created in Synapse® InSite Administration.
  • User rights cannot be set in Synapse InSite Administration. You must click TWEM Admin Page at the bottom of the Synapse InSite Administration page to add Synapse TeamWorks/EyeMedia user rights. (By default, all Synapse TeamWorks/EyeMedia user rights are selected.)
  • Some administration settings are not available, such as FPO resolution.
  • Synapse TeamWorks/EyeMedia is only available with Synapse InSite.
  • Synapse TeamWorks/EyeMedia 1.0.3 is only qualified to work with Synapse® InSite 4.1.0.1286 (non-SSL only) or Synapse InSite 4.1.0.1288 (SSL or non-SSL).

In an SSL environment:

  • Synapse Desktop connection URLs must include the HTTPS:// prefix or the connection may fail.
  • If authentication of the SSL certificate fails, Synapse Desktop will be unable to perform uploads or downloads. Authentication can fail if the certificate is invalid or expired, or if the internal/external host name does not match the one on the certificate.
  • The Synapse Desktop installer runs on Macintosh® only. You cannot download the installer through the Synapse TeamWorks/EyeMedia web pages when using a Windows® server.

Solution

These problems may be fixed in future releases of Synapse TeamWorks/EyeMedia.
