InSite Creative installer fails when upgrading a system integrated with Prepress Portal/Storefront but not Prinergy

Product

  • Kodak® InSite™ Creative Workflow 3.0.3, 3.0.5, and 3.1
  • Kodak InSite Asset Library 3.0.3, 3.0.5, and 3.1
  • Kodak InSite Variable Data Print 3.0.3, 3.0.5, and 3.1

Platform

PC

Operating system

Microsoft® Windows® 2003

Symptoms

When running the InSite Creative server installer on a system that is integrated with InSite Prepress Portal or InSite Storefront, but not with Prinergy, the installer fails at the Update Prinergy Primary step.

Cause

The Update Prinergy Primary step in the installer requires that there be a Prinergy system present. Since there is no Prinergy system present in the integrated system, the installer fails at this step. The failure can be safely ignored in this type of configuration.

Solution

When the installer reports that the Update Prinergy Primary step failed, select the option to continue with the remainder of the installation. The installation will complete, but will still report the failed step and will disable the TwAm service. After the installer completes, reset the TwAm service from disabled to automatic, and reboot the server. The server should start correctly.
