Can't install TwAm Processor license key after changing the dongle on an InSite Creative server

Product

Kodak® InSite™ Creative Workflow, Asset Library, and Variable Data Print, all versions

Platform

PC

Operating system

Microsoft® Windows® 2000 or 2003

Error

The following message appears when you try to enter the new TwAm Processor license key for the new dongle:

License Key and dongle mismatch. Do you want to enter a new License key?

Symptoms

When attempting to replace the TwAm and TwAm Processor license keys on a system because an existing dongle has been replaced with a new one, the above error message appears. There appears to be no way to get past the dialog box to enter the new TwAm Processor license key.

Cause

This is a bug in the License Manager, which appears when the TwAm license key has been replaced for the new dongle's TwAm license key. The TwAm license key is the top key in the License Manager dialog box, but the TwAm Processor license key is still referencing the old dongle's TwAm Processor license key (dispalyed in the bottom half of the License Manager dialog box). The License Manager gets into a state where you cannot enter the new TwAm Processor license key.

Solution

You must manually enter the new TwAm Processor license key using Prinergy Evo Administrator:

  1. In <system drive>\Creo\Twam\TwamProcessor\bin, start PrinergyEvoAdmin.exe.
  2. Using Prinergy Evo Administrator, go to the License tab and manually enter the new TwAm Processor license key.
  3. When you are finished, right-click the Prinergy Evo icon in the icon tray on the lower-right side of the desktop, and select Exit.
  4. Return to the License Manager. You should now be able to display both the new TwAm license key and the new TwAm Processor license key.
