Description: |
Plots an exposure series to determine the best sensitivity setting for the media. An exposure series is a plot in which the sensitivity adjust is increased for every strip. The <pattern> parameter is an integer specifying which built-in test pattern to use. Use the list pattern command to display the available patterns. The <start> parameter specifies the starting value in percentage points, which can be negative. The actual sensitivity is equal to the hdm sens parameter plus or minus the current sensitivity adjust. The range for the series is the same as for the hdm NVS sensitivity adjust parameter. The <increment> parameter specifies the step size, also in percentage points. For example, "plot 80 exp -10 2" will plot pattern #80 several times over the width of the media on the drum, starting with the sensitivity adjust set to -10% and incrementing it 2% with each series step. The current hdm NVS parameter "sensadj" is ignored during an exp series. The number of steps and the width of each stripe are set by the hdp NVS parameters "fmsl" and "fmsw" respectively. In order to allow scripts to run exposure series, an alternative syntax, in which <start> and <increment> are omitted, is allowed. If this syntax is used the hdm NVS wpowere parameter is updated using the current values of sensitivity and sensitivity adjust, and the current pattern will be plotted using the updated wpowere. Note that the head NVS lsrmode parameter must be set to 1 or 2 in order to update and use wpowere. |
