NVS Parameter: head lsrmode

Long Name:

laser_mode

Applies to:

  • Thermal

  • Description:

Sets the mode to use for the laser power servo. 0 - Adjusts laser current to match wpower setpoint at a rate determined by the setting of "wsample". 3 - As mode 0 but only adjust laser power when not over the plate. While over the plate hold the last current. This mode needs to be used on highly refective media since otherwise the back reflection can interfere with the power measurement.

Modes 1 or 2 which are exposure modes are available starting with thermal head firmware 1.50 (needs matching MPE version as well). Mode 1 and 2 are identical to modes 0 and 3 respectively except that the setpoint value ("hdm wpowere") is automatically modified every time the machine is reset, the media type changed or the "sys tstk" timer times out. The wpowere value is calculated from the power out of the head as measured by the nose piece sensor, the drum speed, the swath width, the drum diameter and the media sensitivity as specified in "media sens".

For both modes 0 and 3 the "hdm wpower" setting is the laser servo setpoint while for modes 1 and 2 "hdm wpowere" is the setpoint.
