Checking the Problem Type / Existence

Check, using 4up or 2up, the problem type. It can be a "BOW" direction problem, "LINEARITY" problem or both. Make sure that a problem exists.   (The tolerance is 50 microns ).

Checking the Site

Humidity: Check with your customer the humidity on site. If you find the humidity out of the spec (55+-5 % ) , please ask the customer to correct it . Low humidity is a significant reason for electrostatic and registration problems. One of the indications for a problem would be film sliding over the drum surface during loading.

Processor: Check the processor conditions. Make sure that the temperature of the drier will be the minimum possible and the film comes out dry. This will eliminate film distortions because of heating.

Checking Hardware

Film Scrap
Stop Spirals
Check the Fiber Optic Gluing
Open the Side Doors & Covers & Load Film

Film Scrap

Check and remove any pieces of scrap film inside the drum cavity. If this symptom appears to happen frequently, please make sure that the detection for last piece of film is activated with the appropriate FCO's and micro versions.

Stop Spirals

Micro software 4.03 has a bug correction for stop spirals. This correction may eliminate registration problems along the lead screw caused by stop spirals.

Check the Fiber Optic Gluing

On the "colim. and focus assembly" the fiber glue must be stable and without cracks. Check it very gently!

Open the Side Doors & Covers & Load Film

  1. Check the spreader and spreader rollers. The wheels should roll over the film and not roll while the spreader is not on film. Check both ends ( Both sides ).

  2. Check the vacuum valves operation. Make sure that the valves are close and there is no vacuum ( check for leakage ). The best way to check is on the valve exit, Open the rear cover and, while the valve is close remove the plastic hose and check, using a small piece of film, that no vacuum leakage exist.

  3. Check the feeder shaft and the feeding tension:

Bow and Linearity Adjustment

Check the Bow and adjust if needed using the Bow adjustment procedure.
Check the Linearity and adjust if needed using the Linearity adjustment procedure.

Use 4up or 2up for Final Checking

Check the 4up and 2up registration with your customer. Attain registration results with the measurement tool jig.
