This new hardware-based feature improves screen quality and accuracy. In addition to the new CreoScitex Class Screen feature, this software version provides a new Geometric Dot and improvements in the human interface of the screening function.
A new Layout option in the Expose dialog, called Mult Up, enables you to expose all the separations of several files on one (1) piece of film.
A new Black Frame field in the Expose dialog enables you to expose a black frame around the files of a flat on a negative exposure.
A new Last <F4> soft key in the Expose dialog eases the handling of multiple forms of exposure parameters. You can scroll among the forms of exposure instructions, both forwards and backwards.
This software version supports the option of Blue Line. This option exposes on the same piece of the film one (1) of the separations of the CT with a separation of the LW which is blended using all four (4) separations.
It is possible to specify both a Positive and Negative Excurve in a Plotter Format. The required Excurve is selected automatically during exposure.
Marks can be exposed as either Positive or Negative.
A label can be exposed either as Mirrored or Not Mirrored.
A number of CreoScitex prepared Plotter Formats are supplied with this version. These System Plotter Formats are adjusted to suit various screening requirements. Your existing list of Plotter Formats and any new ones that you define are now called User Plotter Formats.
Specific conventions determine the names assigned to CreoScitex Class Screen Plotter Formats and to regular Plotter Formats (regular Plotter Formats are those in which the CreoScitex Class Screen option is inactive).
A new background exposure feature enables you to expose images in the background. This releases your station to perform other activities (e.g., copy or rename) while it is exposing.
The <F3> (Plot List) soft key enables you to view a list of all the files that may be exposed, and select one (1) or several files from this list.
This new feature enables you to align an exposed image (a flat or file) to the holes punched on film.
A new parameter, Tone Rep Curve, was added to the Plotter Formats. A Tone Rep (Reproduction) Curve LUT enables you to achieve better tone compression on paper and compensates for inherent dot gain. This function was called Dot Gain in previous software versions.
A new List <F4> soft key in the Expose dialog enables you to view and select from a list of possible options, when filling in certain fields.
The Mirror and Negative fields were added to the Expose dialog.
This software version offers the following widths: 0.05 mm, 0.10 mm, 0.15 mm, and 0.20 mm (the default).
