The 90 deg. elbow and its T-fitting are replaced together with the punch cover to improve Slugs Removal in cases where a slugs removal problem exists.

Note: Punch Big considered as punch where the hole is bigger than 3/8" in one direction.

Reason for Change

In order to improve the slugs removal. In cases where a problem exists, more space is needed inside the slugs compartment in the punch unit and inside the 90 deg. elbow.

Description of Change

The 90 deg. elbow and its T-fitting are replaced together with the punch cover.

Change Procedure

Note: This procedure should be performed on an uninstalled punch unit. Before removing the punch unit mark the position of the unit in order to install it back in the correct place.

1. Remove the punch unit from the plotter (it is strongly recommeded to check it before installing the unit).
2. Release the two screws (#22).
3. Remove the punch cover (#24).
4. Move the two sping washers (#7) from the screws to the inside part of the cover between the cover and the punch block.
5. Reinstall the new cover (cat. no. 290B36237).
6. The modified unit can be installed.
7. Install the modified unit using the new T union (290A38973) and the new 90 deg. elbow (290A38968).
8. After installation perform several sequences and make sure that the slugs are properly removed.
9. Make sure that the Punch unit is in the correct position according to the customer ruler.

1. Perform several punch sequences and make sure that the slugs are properly removed.
2. Check all the punches location according to the customer ruler.
