Disassembling of Film In/Out Detectors
Assembling the Film In/Out Detector

Before you Start

You may find it necessary to remove the loading and unloading unit out, in order to replace the Film In/Out detectors.

Disassembling of Film In/Out Detectors

  1. Power off the Imagesetter using the operational panel on/off switch.
  2. Open the side-doors of the DOLEV 800 and take off the light-proof cover.
  3. Release the loading system knob lockers and the wiring to the loading system, and pull the system out.
  4. Before you dismantle the left or right film guide, it is necessary to take out the film guide next to it.
  5. Release the set screw and the screw of the film guide second to the
left or the film guide second to the right and pull them out.
  6. Release the set screw and the screw of the film guide itself.
  7. Release the Film Counter Connector and the Film In/Out Detector
Connector and pull the Film Guide out.
Note: Do not touch the side screw which is adjusted to fit the system.
  8. Release the Film In/Out Detector (magnetic lever type) by releasing the two screws that hold it to the Film Guide.

Assembling the Film In/Out Detector

  1. Set the new Film In/Out Detector arm in the place of the old one. Replace the sensor angle with the new one. Remember to move the magnet from the old arm to the new one.
  2. Tighten the two screws that hold the Film In/Out Detector to its Film Guide. Make sure that the end of the lever is not above the upper surface of the Film Guide and that the detector is operating smoothly.
  3. Connect the Film In/Out Detector and the Film Counter connector.
  4. Replace the Film Guide (cubic) and the one next to it and tighten their screws.
  5. Adjust the Roller pressure tension (see procedure).
  6. Replace the loading system and lock the knobs that lock it in place and reconnect the wiring.
  7. Restart the DOLEV 800.

Test Procedure

  1. Enter diagnostics program. Select utility detectors and check by pressing the magnetic lever down until the detector responds.
