The VLSI Board Cat. Number 503D40259 is replaced with a new board ( Comp. Level L ).
Note: This FCO refers only to the new VLSI Class II Boards Cat #503D40259. The new boards function the same as the old VLSI boards.

The board ( 503D40259 - VLSI CLASS II ASSY ) cause to communication hang up.
Replace the VLSI class ( 503D40259 ) board with board Comp. level L
3.1 Check and configure the board's dip switches as follows:
If installed inside the Whisper:
| U311 | On: 4,6,7 Off : 1,2,3,5,8 |
| U314 | On: none Off: al |
If installed inside the imagesetter:
| U311 | On: 4,5,6,8 Off: 1,2,3,7 |
| U314 | On: 2,3,4,5,6,7,8 Off: 1 |
Dip Switches with no change:
| U1515 (4 DIP-SWITCHs device) : | On: 2 Off: 1,3,4 |
| U1308A (4 DIP-SWITCHs device): | On: 1 Off: 2,3,4 |
3.2 Replace the VLSI class board with the one supplied in the FCO kit.
4.1 Check communication between the Host and the
Plotter.
4.2 Expose and make sure that the problem with the board disappears.
The kit for performing this FCO consists of:
503D40259 VLSI CLASS II ASSY BOARD x 1 (COMP. LEVEL L)
The replaced board should be sent back to STIL for upgrade.
Material for this FCO will be supplied two months after an order will be placed.
STA can order up to 5 kits
STE can order up to 5 kits
STMA can order up to 1 kits
STAP can order up to 3 kits
STN can order up to 4 kits.
