1. Overview

The Dolev 800 and 800P have undergone many changes recently with many ECO's, FCO's and Diagnostics.

In this FSB we will summerize the changes and the differences in the Dolev plotters.

Dolev 800 is a Dolev with s/n from 11001 to 11095.

Dolev 880P is a Dolev with s/n 11151 and higher.

A new S/N will start with plotter # 11286. See the enclosed explanation.

2. Recent FCO Topics

Panel Kit (Eprom)
FCO type: Conditional
Effective on machines with S/N from 11001 to 11015
Reason for change: The first 15 plotters were supplied with EPROM which contained micro version 1.0 for the panel. This version was not planned to work with system version 4. The new EPROM contains panel micro version 1.1 which was programmed to work with system version 4.

Reason for change: Single black points appeared in the center of white dot. These points were caused by noisy X clock and Y clock signals. The noise was generated by reflection from incorrect termination of these signals.The change will eliminate the unwanted points.

Reason for change: During loading, the film touches the lead screw which can cause scratches on the film. Sometimes the film gets wrinkled during loading.

Replacing Sprockets - Scratches

Effective on machines with S/N lower than 11280
Reason for change: Scratches on film from the Loading system can be eliminated by replacing the sprocket on the feeder motor and by lowering the loading system by 3mm. The Unloading film guide should be replaced in order to avoid funnel problems due to 3mm lowering.

Reason for change: The existing type of film carrier suffers from slipping between the film roll and the film
carrier which causes a false end of film indication. The new type of film carrier has a better grip on the film roll
which eliminates any slipping of the film roll.

Reason for change: Five plotters were shipped without the punch manifold system. In order to install the punch system the manifold should be installed.

Reason for change: Implementation of the FCO will solve the "DAT - 12V" failures (Integration/Data voltage).

3. Dolev 800 Diagnostic - Version 1.10

Version 1.10 of the Dolev 800 diagnostic was released with ECO 17929.
The effective release date is 11.7.93.

In this new version you will find some updates and additional features from version 1.08.

Detailed explanation of the diagnostics is described in Diag. Doc. file.
All tests information are described in Diag. TST file.
Please print the two files and use them as a reference guide.

Note: While running the diagnostics, two tests fail:

1. Integration - Data voltage - DAT -12V. The -12V checking circuit does not work properly (FCO 17998 on the OMC board solves it).
   
2. Mechanics - Punch - Fails when no punch is installed.
   
3. OMC fails on communication if the Host does not work.

4. Dolev 800 System Software

Version 4.0 of the Dolev 800 was released with ECO 17495.

The effective release date was 6.7.93.

The plotters with S/N 11257 and higher will be shipped with system software 4.0.

Document no. 793-8F278 describes the software release.
Please note all the hardware updates that are needed for the new version.

5. Notes, Tips & Known Problems

5.1 In FCO 17766 the feeder sproket is replaced. The old sprocket has 20 teeth and the new one has 18.
It is important to install the correct one whenever replacing the feeder motor (anyone of the three). The feeder motor (DLV800- GEAR MOTOR DRIVE RIGHT/LEFT) in the spare parts kit has the sprocket on it.

5.2 Six plotters were checked with software version 4.0 but were shipped with software version 3.2P. The S/N are 11250 to 11256. Please note that the strobe correction tables should be modified and see version 4.0 upgrade instruction. In general, the software will do the upgrade but the numbers will not be as the attached paper.

5.3 From plotter 11269 internal conveyor rails are installed inside the Dolev 800. In order to install the conveyor insert it in the plotter, lock it and adjust the funnel if needed.

5.4 From plotter S/N 11269, two belts were added to support the side doors.

5.5 A new serial number is assigned to the plotter. The new number starts with the year (two digits). The second
two digits are the number of the week, the next 4 digits are the order number and the last two digits are the production line identification.

Example: 9328029101
The year is 1993
The week is 28
The order number is 0291
The production line identification is 01
(opto-mechanical)

The NVM tables will continue with the old S/N. The change is from S/N 11286.

5.6 "Error in Data Transfer"
Sometimes, during plot, the message "Error in Data Transfer" appears. The same ground must be connected to the Dolev 800 and to the I/O station (Whisper). It is recommended to connect a ground cable between the Dolev 800 and the Whisper station. If an Online processor is connected, it should have a separate ground and not the same one as the Dolev 800. Make sure tht there is no ground connection between the Dolev 800 and the processor.
