FSB 352 DOLEV 800 UPDATES

Following are updates in Dolev 800 during the last quarter - Q3.

The update includes:

1. S/W releases
2. H/W FCO's
3. Released ECO's
4. Diagnostics updates
5. Jigs
6. Special Tips

S/W RELEASES:

Version 4.02 was released.
This version solves several bugs which appeared in version 4.00.

FCO 18138 supports the version update. It is recommended to send this FCO kit to all customers who already have version 4.00

The kit includes diskettes and documentation for customers.

Appendix A includes the new features of this release.

H/W FCO's

FCO 18366

This FCO solves shifts of lines each 4mm, which occur due to the Strobe Board. The change replaces the xiling U403 with a slower one.
Version 4.02 also supports the change in the strobe xiling file.
However this FCO can also be implemented with version 4.00.
In order to replace the xiling there is a need to order a special tool - cat. no. 395B10030.

FCO 18330

This FCO replaces defective Dynamic Collimation & Focus Assembly, where the fiber cable connected to it is not properly glued and therefore causes bow effects.

FCO 18301

This FCO replaces the Spinner Driver Board in cases where it causes damage to the OMC board. The board comp. level is changed to M.

FCO 18229

This FCO replaces the spacers between the red loading rollers. The new spacers have set screws. The connection of the set screws to the drive shaft prevents movement of the red rollers, which effects the loading of the film into the drum and reduces registration problems.

FCO 17998

This FCO changes resistors on the OMC to prevent the Dat 12V neg. error which appears on the panel. The board comp. level is changed to Q.

FCO 16669

This FCO updates the first 80 Dolev 800 and adds the interlocks and the door lockers. A special jig is required. One set will be sent to each subsidiary.

FCO 18030

This FCO includes a new User Guide which supports version 4. This guide should be distributed among all Dolev 800 customers.

ECO's which were released:

ECO 18390

Strobe 5 updated to rev. D.
Effectivity date 1.12.93.

ECO 18340

Improvement of the spinner motor shaft.
Effectivity date 10.10.93

ECO 18291

Improving the film guides (cubics). The film was getting stuck at the entrance due to the phase of the assembly.
Assemblies effected are:
film guide right - 280B29875A
film guide left - 280B29876A
film guide - 280B29877A
Improving the Film In/Out detector angle (holder) to prevent film stucks when unloading film - cat. no. 290B33115.
Effectivity date 9.9.93

ECO 17805

This ECO solves failures in Fast Data I diagnostics LW Bus test. It adds resistors of 750 okm between U814-11 and U814-20 on printed side.
Effective from 25.7.93.

ECO 17983

A modified unloading cassette II - cat. no. 370G00045.
A change was made in the rollers connected to the cassette to help it easily enter its position.

DIAGNOSTICS

Tests which failed in diagnostics version 1.10.

  1. On/Off ratio
  2. Laser intensity
  3. Laser integration
  4. When the host is powered off the OMC communication fails.
  5. Power suppliers - Dat 12V neg./pos. - see FCO 17998
  6. Shutter repeatability

JIGS

There are 5 kits of jigs which support the Dolev 800. The organization of the kits have lately been changed:

  1. Regional jigs 510L34298 - 1 per office
  2. Personal jigs 510L34299 - 1 per O/M engineer
  3. Punch jigs 510L36975 - 1 per O/M engineer
  4. Fiber optics jigs 510L34300 - 1 per office
  5. Grid measurment jig 510L35842 - 1 per office
  6. Loading shaft adj. jig 510L36021 - 1 per region

SPECIAL TIPS

FILM TYPES

It is forbidden to use Agfa SPR712 film on Dolev 800 or any other Dolev (200,400). This film causes film stucks. Only Agfa SP712p is recommended. Film types which tend to cause scratches are Kodak SHN2000, Dupont
CHI-4, 3M.

FILM IN/OUT DETECTOR

The two detectors (right/left) are sensitive and sometimes cause an error "No film at film In". This error may also appear after installing the FCO for scratches. Version 4.02 reduces the sensitivity of this detectors.
