Recent FCO Topics

FCO 18330
FCO 18535
FCO 18638

FCO 18330

Dynamic optic - lens housing

FCO type - conditional

Effectiveness - on machines with s/n lower than 11322 (93340372).

Reason for change -

a) The new lens housing is assembled with a better glue, adhering the fiber optic to the lens and thereby preventing "bow" problems caused by poor adhesion, as in the old glue type.
b) The problem can be identified when an inconsistent bow line appears in a range of up to several hundred microns. In this case, it can be caused by poor adhesion in the old glue type. External signs can usually be detected. Look carefully for a crack between the fiber connection and the fiber holder. Rotate carefully and verify that the fiber is secured to the holder.
NOTE: Bow and linearity adjustment will be needed after this FCO implementation.

FCO 18535

Host cable - 30 meters

FCO type - conditional

Effectiveness - on machines with s/n lower than 9345xxxx

Reason for change - During plot, an error message of illegal stop spiral will halt exposure and the plot will be aborted. A better grounding of the cable shield is needed.

FCO 18638

Data unit crate - data cable

FCO type - conditional

Effectiveness - on machines with s/n lower than 9348xxxx.

Reason for change - During plot, an error message of illegal stop spiral will halt exposure and the plot will be aborted. A better grounding of the cable shield is needed.

Recent ECO's

ECO 17037
ECO's 18471, 18482, 18483
ECO 18505
ECO 18566
ECO 18574, ECO 18577
ECO's 18588, 18589

ECO 17037

Improved case and cover to the RF DRIVER PC ASSY. The functionality does not change and the board is the same as the old one. Catalogue number remains the same.

Effective as of 25/10/93.    (S/N 9345XXXX and up)

ECO's 18471, 18482, 18483

Updating documents and drawings according to the new design. The new designs of the top cover assembly, middle cover assembly and lower cover assembly are current.

Effective as of 17/10/93.    (S/N 9344XXXX and up)

ECO 18505

Changes in the loading system.

Removal of the joining gear from one side of all the rollers of the loading system. The motion will be transferred with one joining gear. This change will reduce the cost of the loading system; will not effect its functionality, and will prevent some film jams.

Effective as of 25/10/93.    (S/N 9345XXXX and up)

ECO 18566

Adding the fiber optics cleaning kit 510L34300 to the personal jigs for Dolev 800.

Effective as of 4/11/93

ECO 18574, ECO 18577

Change the Dolev 800 I/F to the PS from the fast data kit to "VLSI LBX + CLASS" kit.

The new kit, catalogue no. 510K37511, consists of the following:

Multimode fiber CBL 50/125 30 M 138E00090
SFLM board assy. 503D27670
Screen proc. LBX + CLASS SCREEN 503D38691
S/W, W/D PS/2 2-6.2/DLV800 V.4 510V37479

Effective as of 2/1/94.

ECO's 18588, 18589

These ECO's correct a design error in the unloading film guide. The matte side of the film was facing the unloaded film, whereas the shiny side is that which should be facing the unloaded film.

The ECO's affected the Dolev 800P load & unload assembly FCO kit for Dolev 800P (FCO 17766) and the FCO kit for Dolev 800 (FCO 17766A).

The old catalogue number is 298A29262. The new catalogue number is 298A29262A. - UNLOADING FILM GUIDE TYPE II.

New Service ItemN (Service Chain)

Service chain - Dolev 800 507E39111

This chain can use a service chain for the cutter (both chains), as well as for the spreader.

Service Tips & Notes

  1. Minimum Film Feed

The minimum film feed - while using a conveyor - should be 450, and not the routine 380. This length will prevent film jams within the conveyor.

  2. Leakage of the Vacuum Valves

Some of the vacuum valves may leak, causing a vacuum on the drum throughout loading time. In this case, the "vacuum sequence" will not work.

Check the vacuum valves, as well as other components, when experiencing registration problems.

  3. Punch Installation

In order to ease the Punch installation and adjustment, use two washers on each locking screw. This will enable mobility of the unit following release of the locking screws by half a turn only.
