1. Overview

This FSB summarizes the recent changes undertaken, the recent FCOs and service updates.

2. Recent FCO Topics

FCO 18766
FCO 18772

FCO 18766

Adding cover to the lead screw edge.

FCO type = Conditional

Effectiveness: On all plotters with s/n lower than 9406XXXX

Reason for change: This FCO should be performed in order to prevent the dynamic optic cable from being caught by the lead screw or home position detector.

FCO 18772

OMC board to comp. level R.

FCO type = Conditional

Effectiveness: On machines with s/n lower than 9401xxxx

Reason for change: This FCO solves problems of WCS RAM and failure of WCS loading in the OMC board.

The error: "OMC WCS load err" will also appear in the diagnostics.

3. Recent ECO Topics

ECO 18577
ECO 18603
ECO 18403
ECO 18746 - Spinner Drive PC Assy.

ECO 18577

Change the Dolev 800 I/F to the PS from the fast data kit to "VLSI LBX + CLASS" kit.

The new kit, catalogue no. 510K37511A, consists of the following:

Multimode fiber CBL 50/125 30 M 138E00090
SFLM board assembly 503D27670
Screen proc. LBX + CLASS SCREEN 503D38691
S/W, W/D PS/2 2-6.2/DLV800 V.4 510V37479

Effective as of 1 February, 1994. Please note date revision.

ECO 18603

Change the 10 meter host cable to prevent the error message "Illegal Stop Spiral" during file exposure.

This change adds ground to the cable shield. As this cable is not part of a kit, an FCO is not required.

ECO 18403

Update the C.R.I. board to enhance productivity. The new CRI board is newly designed and edited.

No change in functionality or compatibility level.

Effective as of 10 February, 1994.

ECO 18746 - Spinner Drive PC Assy.

Change the R30 connection from U4-3 and U4-1 to U3-4 and U3-. This change will prevent discharge between high and low voltages. No change in the board comp. level or functionality. The boards in the field were checked for discharge of voltages, and passed.

Effective as of 10 December, 1993

Film Guides (Cubics)
Diagnostics 1.1 Failings

Film Guides (Cubics)

The film guide assemblies have now been defined as such and can be ordered per the following:

507A38927 Film Guide Right Assembly
507A38928 Film Guide Left Assembly
507A38929 Film Guide Assembly

The film in/out detector - CreoScitex cat. no. 170O00040 - is used in the conveyor.

A new extender board has been defined and can be used as a jig. It's CreoScitex cat. no. is 503D27677.

Diagnostics 1.1 Failings

OMC with comp. level R:
Fails on spinner check.
The Fail is on: OMC - Spinner - Spinner Counter and the messages are:
HS10 pin is low instead of high
Check C0_SPN25 singal in spinner xilinx

Strobe board with new design (no comp. level change):
Fails on Micro Contr. - ALU Instruct
The error message is:
Error found in ERROR buffer
Press <cr> to continue and the messages are:
ALU Status Bit (ALU_FO) error
ALU Status Bit (ALU ERR) error

5. Production News

Spring and flat washers were added to the funnel lockers. These will help steady the funnel.

The out film selector's detector (on-line/cassette selector) requires checking in both on-line and cassette positions. The funnel will sometimes shift when ejecting and inserting the loading system.

The focus lens from machine 93490261 has pins which prevent the rotation of the lens while adjusting focus, thereby preventing a Bow problem while adjusting focus.

A conveyor has been assembled from machine 93490273 and the funnel has been adjusted accordingly.
Please let us know if modification was required when the conveyor was installed in the field.

Dolev 800 Serial Number
Starting from plotter number 93430424, the serial number in the NYVM table is 0 (serial number 0). The machine s/n will appear on the NVM diskette and on all the documents attached to the plotter.
