Spinner Speed Table - Improve Screen Quality
Sometimes when experiencing problems with the encoder or encoder index, it is due to a white coating on the encoder disk.
Below is a procedure for cleaning the disk and for eliminating the white coating.
Required Material:
Procedure:
The in-line conveyor for connecting an on-line processor will be handled with much more care:
3.1 When replacing a loading cassette, make sure that
the new cassette is detected on both - cassette in and
"No film" detectors. Adjust the detectors
if necessary.
3.2 Sometimes, when positioning the cassette into the loading system, the film will
go inside the cassette and
an error in loading will appear. In these cases an
adjustment of the light cover pusher (part #129) is needed
by attaching a washer underneath.
In order to improve the screen quality, the spinner speed can be modified.
The Spinner Speed Table is accessible through the Machine
Menu/Factory
tables - password SCITEX and strobe PLL phase.
The default table looks like:
STROBE PLL PHASE
| Resolution | Min Speed | Min D2A | Max Speed | Max D2A |
| 1: 40 | 13200 | 41 | 13800 | 41 |
| 2: 50 | 10500 | 44 | 13800 | 41 |
| 3: 60 | 8700 | 47 | 13800 | 41 |
| 4: 70 | 7500 | 48 | 13800 | 41 |
| 5: 80 | 6600 | 49 | 13800 | 41 |
| 6: 90 | 5700 | 49 | 12900 | 43 |
| 7: 100 | 5100 | 50 | 11700 | 44 |
| 8: 110 | 4500 | 51 | 10500 | 45 |
| 9: 120 | 4200 | 52 | 9600 | 46 |
| 10: 130 | 3900 | 52 | 9000 | 46 |
| 11: 140 | 3600 | 52 | 8100 | 47 |
The factor that might be changed is the maximum speed and it can be changed by 15% in speed in order to improve the film quality.
Change the CPU 286 board to a new CPU 286 board, catalog number 503C39424.
The new board is a "long" board. Below you can find the board setting:
Highlight "RUN CMOST SETUP" by using the key to move the highlight bar, and press Enter. The AMI BIOS screen will appear on your monitor, similar to the one below:

Effective as of June 1994 (9424xxxx and up)
A change in the routing of the cutter left wiring in order to reduce cost.
The new routing is in the front of the loading system (above the cutter chain) and not through the side panels.
Effective as of April 1994.
