Description

The 3.5 inch floppy Diskette Drive (Cat. No. 281B33980) is located in front of the panel. The system arrives with several diskettes:

501V32365 System Diskette
501V32366 Diagnostics #1
501V32671 Diagnostics #2
501V32504 NVM Tables

The system floppy diskette is inserted in the disk drive before the imagesetter is powered on. The floppy loads all of the information the imagesetter needs for normal operations.

The diagnostics diskettes are used by the service engineer to perform laptop-based or Host based diagnostics on the imagesetter.

Replacement

1. Turn off the plotter.
   
   
2. Open the right door and remove the right cover.
   
   
3. Disconnect the two cables from the drive.
   
   
4. Release the two screws that hold the drive, and remove it.
   
   
5. Install the new drive following the above instructions in the reverse order.

Check

Startup the plotter (boot) and make sure that the start-up procedure is running. The diskette should be inside the drive and the start-up should run.
