Description

The CPU Board 80286 (12MHZ PC/AT cat. # 503C27694) is a single board computer. The board resides in the standard controller. It has a keyboard connector and two communication ports, COM1 and COM2. The CPU controls all of the standard controller functions. It is responsible for communication with the host computer and the data unit. It initiates plotting procedures, manages the film loading, unloading and cutting, and controls the control panel. There are two types of boards in the field: for 30 machine types use a long version, for all new machines use a short version

Replacement

1. Switch the machine OFF.
   
   
2. Open the right side door of the Dolev 800 & thestandard controller cover.
   
   
3. Release the cables from the CPU board.
   
   
4. Release the CPU board and remove it from the crate.
   
   
5. Install the new board.
   
   
6. Connect the cables to the CPU board.
   
   
7. Close the right side door of the Dolev 800 & the standard controller cover and restore power.

Check

1.    Turn the machine on.

2.    Run CPU Diagnostics (diskette #2 of Diagnostics) and verify that the CPU board diagnostic does not fail.
