Plotter/Processor Interaction & Environment
Note: Do not connect the on line processor power and ground to the same power and ground as the Dolev 800.
The plotter is equipped with a He-Ne laser and optics which have been covered with a special optical coating.
The coating of the He-Ne laser optics determines the laser output power; the absorption losses must therefore be minimized to a few tenths of a percent. The mirror radius must be accurate to 1/20th of a wave length.
The film processor for the plotter is a source of "dirty" air and can contaminate the laser and the optics.
Plotter/Processor Location Requirements
The processor should be located in a room separate from the plotter room and with separate air-conditioning ducting. Optionally, an in-line processor may be attached to the plotter by means of a film conveyer. In such a case, the processor should be placed in a room adjoining the plotter room (with a slot in the wall). Alternatively, a separating wall must be built between the plotter and the processor.
Ensuring Plotter Room Air Cleanliness
Without exception, the following precautionary steps must be taken:
The safety light in use is a Bright Cyan. For more details refer to the film manufacturer recommendations.
