Background

The connection of the dynamic cable has changed. This procedure describes how to replace the ground cable when you replace the cable chain.

Requirements

• 380A09040*1 ( SOC.CAP STST+BL.OX.1/4-20X3/8 )
• 382J17001*2 ( EXT TOOTH L/W STST1/4" )

Procedure

Before performing this procedure, you must remove the dynamic optic assembly from the imagesetter.

1. Remove the three Allen screws on the shutter protector, and then remove the shutter protector (see shutter drawing, #225).
2. Remove the ground cable (example shown for older device versions).
   
3. With the tip of a screwdriver or other sharp object, scrape the coating from around the grounding socket, as shown.
   
   
4. Thread the Allen screw (part number 380A09040) through the teeth ring and ground cable, as shown.
   
5. Connect the new ground cable by inserting the Allen screw into its grounding socket, as shown.
