Const Conversion Thicknesses to Focus Motor Parameter Calculation for Lotem 400

Product

  • Lotem® 400 fiberhead family
  • Lotem 200K

Background

The parameter Const Conversion Thickness To Focus Motor is calculated and entered in the registry to enable automatic calculation and conversion of the focus values for plate definitions when using different media thicknesses.

The Focus value within the Media Definition uses the conversion parameter.

Procedure

Important: Perform this procedure with 0.3 mm plates only!

  1. Load a 0.3 mm plate.
  2. Run the Focus Calibration Test and find the best focus strip.
  3. In Lotem Controller, check that the Plate Vendor value and the Thickness value are correct for the current plate.
  4. In Lotem controller, in the Media Thickness dialog box, in the Focus Value box, type the focus value.
  5. Calculate the value for the registry as follows:
'const conversion' = focus value + plate thickness/0.001.
  6. In Lotem Controller, select Others, right-click Lotem400, and then double-clickMachine.
  7. In the Const Conversion Thickness To Focus Motor parameter, type the calculated focus value.
Important: Once you have calculated the Const Conversion Thickness to Focus Motor parameter, do not change it.
  8. Click Save and then click Apply.
  9. Shut down Lotem Controller and then restart it.

Test

Test the Value and try to obtain Database corruptions:
  1. Verify that the focus value for 0.3 mm plates are correct in the following locations:
    • Lotem Controller - Media Definitions
    • Brisque/Xpose - Lotem Calibration
  2. In Brisque/Xpose, in the Output Devices Handling dialog box, click Reconfigure to reset the TSP.
  3. Verify that the focus values are correct for different media thicknesses:
    • 0.15 plates - The focus value should be 150 steps higher than the 0.3 focus value.
    • 0.2 plates - The Focus values should be 100 steps higher than the 0.3 focus value.

Notes:

Run the focus test for all plate thicknesses. If the value found is not within the auto conversion range ±10 steps, update the value manually.

The previous method of setting the Const Conversion Thicknesses To Focus Motor parameter through Brisque/Xpose does not work properly and may causes mismatches in focus values for other plate thicknesses.
