Type

Non ablative IR sensitive Aluminum Plates (830nm). Sensitivity better than 300 mj/cm²)

Size

Min.: 650 x 550 mm (650 mm along the drum)
Max
.: 1130 x 900 mm (44.5"x35.4")
Flexibility
: Any plate size within this range, though only five field configurable plate sizes can be supported in a single machine
Thickness
: 0.17-0.3 mm (8-12 mil. nominal)

Plates

Reflective densitometer

A reflective densitometer (B/W or color), which uses n-factor to adjust for negative/positive plates, should be on the site.

Pre-heat / Post-bake ovens

Some plates require the use of pre-heat or post-bake ovens.
The supplier of these devices will provide the specifications.
Plate Size All plates within the range of 650 x 550 mm to 1130 x 900 mm (25.6 x 21.7 inch to 44.5 x 35.4 inch) can be plotted. This range covers standard 4up or 8up presses; does not support the half-web size, which is smaller.
Plate Thickness Plate thickness can range within 0.17 - 0.3 mm. This range covers all sheetfed and most modern web presses.

Image Coverage

Relative to plate

All over the plate, except for the press gripper area. Smallest supported press gripper area is 10 mm at the leading edge, and 6 mm at the trailing edge of the plate.

Marks exposure

Yes

Screening

Line screen range

250 line screen

Different angles

Total flexibility

Dot percent uniformity

±1% (pick to pick) over the entire plate

Accuracy

Note: Variation in plate thickness will impair accuracy (this is not a Lotem issue).

Absolute image accuracy

± 25 micron

Image to plate reference

± 25 micron

Image repeatability between plates

± 25 micron

Throughput

Total throughput (B1 plate at resolution of 100 and 200mJ/cm² plate): Basic option: 10 plates per hour

Front End Connectivity

Type of station Brisque F50
No. of input sockets (stations) Two (2) to support dual RIP

Loading

Load Auto-loading system
Unload Auto unloading of plates
Plate cassettes:
No. of cassettes inside machine at a given time 1
No. of plates in cassette Up to 100 plates for 0.3 mm plate thickness
Plate size flexibility Full flexibility, operator adjustable

In line plate conveyor

Can be purchased from Scitex

Interleaf paper handling

Yes

Punch

Basic definition

Punches are a field-added option, priced depending on the specific configuration. The platesetter is manufactured and supplied with no punches. Standard punch kits are defined based on press configurations. Up to nine punches are possible, with minimum of 30 mm between perforations. A wide variety of punches is available from CreoScitex (see Lotem 800 Site Preparation Guidelines, Cat #399Z51191).

Location

Leading edge of the plate (relative to press loading direction).

Electronic system

Power line

Voltage range: 110/220 VAC ± 10%
Frequency range 50-60 Hz
Power consumption 6K[W]

Carriage control

Eliminate unnecessary travels: supported
Fast speed for service travel: supported
Full control by the I/O station

Diagnostics

Boards: supported
Systems: supported
Remote: supported

Environmental Conditions

General

Standard office environment

Lighting

Plate dependent. Plates located inside the machine are protected from the surrounding light, providing that the plates can be exposed to this light for up to 2 minutes without any damage

Temperature

23°C ± 2°C (73.5°F ± 3°F)

Humidity

55% ± 5%.
