Background

PC controller software works hand-in-hand with several firmware applications. This document provides instructions for installation of the head firmware application that is compatible with PC controller 3.70.02.

Requirements

PC controller software version 3.70.02

Procedure

1. Verify that PC controller software version 3.70.02 is installed.
2. Shut down the Lotem application, as required.
3. In the PC controller, open the Splot program.
4. In the Splot monitor, type QUANTUM>> set head type 3.
   Note: Ignore any warning messages that appear.
5. In the Splot monitor, type QUANTUM>> head program, and wait for the "Datalink exposure head coming online" message to appear.
   Note: Ignore any warning messages that appear.
6. In the Splot monitor, type QUANTUM>> head boot, and wait for the "EH boot command (3) completed successfully" message to appear.
   Note: Ignore any warning messages that appear.
7. Close the Splot program. This frees the serial port.
8. Access the DOS prompt.
9. At the DOS prompt, type one of the following:
   Note: Either one may be typed. Do not type both.
   • C:\th2\tools\tehload p=8 th2h101F.bin
   • C:\th2\tools\tehload p=8 th2firmware.bin
   The head firmware begins to load.
10. When the head firmware has loaded successfully (the DOS prompt appears), open the Splot program.
11. In the Splot monitor, type QUANTUM>> reset. The head firmware is installed.

Test

After all firmware applications have been installed, you can verify successful installation by typing QUANTUM>>sw dir. A list of installed firmware applications will appear.
