Background

Lotem Controller software works hand-in-hand with several firmware applications. This document provides instructions for installation of the Xilinx firmware application that is compatible with Lotem Controller 3.50.07.

Requirements

Lotem Controller software version 3.50.07

Procedure

1. Verify that Lotem Controller software version 3.50.07 is installed.
2. Save the following file to to a floppy or other disk:
   • Xilinx firmware:1.05 (mcelca0105.bin)
3. Shut down the Lotem application, as required.
4. In the Lotem Controller, start the Splot program.
5. In the Splot monitor, type QUANTUM>> reset boot. The A Boot>> prompt appears.
6. Close the Splot program. This frees the serial port.
7. Access the DOS prompt.
8. At the DOS prompt, type one of the following:
   Note: Either one may be typed. Do not type both.
   • C:\th2\tools\bload f=mcelca0105.bin p=8 i=lca
   • C:\th2\tools\bload f=mcelca.bin p=8 i=main
   The Xilinx firmware begins to load.
9. When the Xilinx firmware has loaded successfully (the DOS prompt appears), open the Splot program.
10. In the Splot monitor, type QUANTUM>> reset boot. The A Boot>> prompt appears.
11. In the Splot monitor, type A Boot>> reset. The Xilinx firmware is installed.

Test

After all firmware applications have been installed, you can verify successful installation by typing QUANTUM>>sw dir. A list of installed firmware applications will appear.
