Replacing the Water Pump

This procedure is a draft. The complete procedure will be added in the near future.

Description

If the color of the coolant has darkened from pink to purple, it indicates that the pump may be worn and problems with the system may occur. If the pump is worn, drain the cooling liquid, replace the water pump and strainer, as described herein, and then refill the reservoir with clean coolant.

Removing the Worn Water Pump

  1. Turn off the machine.
  2. Drain the cooling liquid.
  3. Remove the protective covers.
  4. Disconnect the air pressure tube from the water pump.
  5. Disconnect the Quick Release Connector tube from the water pump.
  6. Release the four ¼" Allen screws that connect the water pump base to the machine.
  7. Remove the water pump from the machine for easy access.
  8. Separate the water pump from the water pump base.
