“The task debris removal on switch failed” error message appears when running Lotem Controller 3.75.09

Product

Lotem® 800 II, running Lotem Controller 3.75.09

Component

Universal debris removal chute (UDRC)

Error

The task debris removal on switch failed

Symptoms

  • Customer has upgraded to Lotem Controller 3.75.09
  • UDRC fails to activate
  • The task debris removal on switch failed error message appears after a few hours of continuous production

Cause

The UDRC fails to activate if all the following conditions occur simultaneously:

  • Platesetter is continuously producing exposures over a period of several hours
  • UDRC is set to switch off if more than 5 minutes elapse between exposures
  • Value of the Max. Allowed Valve Activation Time(DWORD) [Sec] parameter is set too low and causes the UDRC to time out

Solution

  1. From within Regedit, locate:
    Lotem800V\IO OBJECTS\LOCAL 3\VALVE\Debris Removal\Max. Allowed Valve Activation Time(DWORD) [Sec]:

  2. Amend the existing value to a number high enough to prevent the UDRC from timing out, for example, 999999.
