Symptoms

• Banding, which is not apparent on the plates, appears on printed images in which 3 or 4 colors have been merged into a specific dot percentage (>70%).
• After running plot 1 (inter plot) and inspecting the 3 x 3 horizontal lines, it appears that the lines are broken.

Cause

The encoder causes every swath to jump approximately 0.5 pixels around the drum.

Solution

Replace the encoder.
Note: After installing the new encoder, adjust the drum index and then check that both the loading sequence and exposure processes are working correctly.
