Background

A prerequisite for obtaining good image quality is that all diodes in the L-box belong to the same diode family.

For ThermoFlex Mid and Narrow platesetters, ten diode families were created according to wavelength and spot size. Each diode family has one part number.

This procedure explains how to determine what part number to order when ordering diodes.

Procedure

On the L-box, check if a sticker with the diode part number appears.
Note: An illustration of the diode numbering appears at the end of this procedure.

• Part number appears—order that part number.
  Note: Do not order the following PNs, even if they appear on the L-box:
  • 514-00082A
  • 514-00083A
  • 514-00084A
  • 514-00085A
    
• Part number does not appear, but serial number appears—in the following table, locate the serial number and order the relevant diode

Note: If no part number or serial number appears,
order diode 514-00055A.

Ship the diodes that you replaced back to the factory, as described in Packing Diodes for Shipment.
