Paper bin task fails on platesetters with Magnus 400 Controller 1.02.392 or 1.04.393

Vacuum bar cover II (part number 252-13009A)

Symptoms

When using wide plates, the tweezers fail to pick up the plates.

Cause

The distance between the tweezers on the paper clamps on vacuum bar assembly is too short to support wide plate sizes.

Solution

Replace the vacuum bar cover II with the vacuum bar cover II wide (part number 252-16002A) and check whether the problem is resolved.

For Magnus 400 platesetters only: If the problem persists, install Update 1 for Magnus 400 Controller 1.02.392 or Update 1 for Magnus 400 Controller 1.04.393.

Installing Update 1

Insert the Update 1 for Magnus 400 Controller 1.02.392 or Update 1 for Magnus 400 Controller 1.04.393 CD into the CD/DVD ROM drive.
When the Welcome to the InstallShield Wizard for Magnus Update 1.02.393.upd1 dialog box appears, click Next and follow the instructions to install the update.
When the InstallShield Wizard Complete dialog box appears, click Finish.

Updating the MCU Paper Disposal Parameters

The MCU paper disposal parameters in Update 1 for Magnus 400 Controller 1.02.392 and 1.03.393 are listed in the following table. The parameters are located in the registry at \Magnus400\IO OBJECTS\Loading System\Load Plate\Paper Disposal Stage
