Background

The Zoom V.92 PCI 56K internal analog modem (part number 609-00317) on the Magnus 800 is used to support the device from a remote location. The modem is only to be used if a fast connection (e.g. PPTP or ISDN) is unavailable and/or a modem on the workflow device is unavailable.

Requirements

Zoom V.92 PCI 56K internal analog modem

Important: The modem can be installed on either an IBM computer or a Lenovo computer. However, the modem can only be installed on a Lenovo computer if the lower PCI slot is available.

Procedure

Install the Zoom V.92 PCI Voice Faxmodem driver:

1. Download the ZoomPCIDriver.zip file and extract the file’s contents.
2. From the list of extracted files, double-click Setup.exe.
3. In the Welcome screen of the Zoom V.92 PCI Voice Faxmodem Setup, click Next.
   
   
   
   
4. Clear the Add an Install icon to my desktop check box, and click Next.
   
   
   
   
5. Clear the Install Intermute Web Protection Suite check box, and click Next.
   
   
   
   
6. When the setup has completed installing the Zoom V.92 PCI Voice Faxmodem, click Finish.
   
   
   
   
   
   

Install the Zoom V.92 PCI Voice Faxmodem card:

1. Quit Microsoft^® Windows^®.
2. Turn off the Magnus 800 computer and disconnect its power cord from the main power.
3. IBM computer: Insert the modem card into the upper most available PCI slot.
   Lenovo computer: Insert the modem card into the lower of the two PCI slots.
   Important: The Zoom V.92 PCI Voice Faxmodem card cannot be installed on a Lenovo computer if this slot is unavailable.
4. Connect the telephone cable.
5. Reconnect the computer power cord to the main power, and turn on the computer.
6. After a few seconds the Found New Hardware Wizard dialog box appears. Check the Install the software automatically (Recommended) check box, and click Next.
   
   
   
   
7. When the wizard identifies the Zoom V.92 PCI Voice Faxmodem, click Register Later in the Electronic Registration dialog box.
   
   
   
   
8. When the setup has completed installing the Zoom V.92 PCI Voice Faxmodem software, click Finish.
   
   
   
   

Complete the installation:

1. Locate the Control Panel, and select Phone and Modem Options.
2. Click the Modems tab, then click Zoom V.92 PCI Voice Faxmodem, and then click Properties.
   
   
   
   
3. Click the Modem tab, and in the Maximum Port Speed list, select 115200.
   
   
   
   
4. Click the Diagnostics tab, and click Query Modem. After a few seconds a list of responses appear. This signifies the modem is correctly connected.
   
   
   
   
   
   
5. Click OK to close the Properties dialog box, and then click OK to close the Phone and Modem Options dialog box.
