Adjusting the height of the Magnus 800 loading platform

Product

Kodak Magnus 800 platesetter

Background

The loading platform height must be correctly adjusted in relation to the following points on the Magnus 800 platesetter:

  • Static loading tray
  • Alignment system
  • Drum position

Procedure

  1. In Kodak Magnus Controller, click Raise Hood to raise the platesetter hood.
  2. Adjust the height of the loading platform in relation to the static loading tray.
    1. In Magnus Controller, ensure that the long and short loading platform cylinders (actuators) are both set to off.
    2. Ensure that the edge of the loading platform is never less than a constant 2 mm lower than the static loading tray.

If required, adjust the height of the loading platform by adding or removing shims (252-02688A) to or from the loading platform’s upper stoppers.

  3. Adjust the height of the loading platform in relation to the alignment system.
    1. In Magnus Controller, ensure that the long loading platform cylinder (actuator) is set to off, and the short loading platform cylinder is set to on.
    2. Ensure that the edge of the loading platform is at the same height (± 0.5 mm) as the alignment system.

If required, adjust the height of the loading platform by adding or removing shims (252-02687A) between the short loading platform cylinder and the long loading platform cylinder.
Note: To add shims, release the four screws located at the rear of the long loading platform cylinder.

  4. Adjust the height of the loading platform in relation to the drum.
    1. In Magnus Controller, ensure that the long and short loading platform cylinders (actuators) are set to on.
    2. Ensure that the edge of the loading platform is at same tangent along the length of the drum.

If required, adjust the height of the loading platform by adding or removing shims (252-02688A) to or from the loading platform’s lower stoppers.
