Drum Vacuum Drive |

Problem |
The Drum Vacuum Pump (DVP) overheates
causing the inverter drive to trip. The DVP stops functioning. |
|---|
Symptoms |
The Drum Vacuum Pump enclosure feels very hot on the
surface. |
|---|
Causes and |
Drum Vacuum Pump has
overheated Faulty connection is indicating a fault Inverter Drive experiences an internal fault Remove the Drum Vacuum Drive (DVD) and Drum Vacuum Pump (DVP) covers. Refer to Accessing the Drum Vacuum System Components. Drum Vacuum Pump has overheatedThe DVP will overheat if it runs at max frequency for an extended period. Test:Check that the DVD Inverter Drive's alphanumeric display indicates an External Fault. If a different fault code is indicated, go to Inverter Drive experiences an internal fault. Access the Junction Box inside of the DVP enclosure. Refer to the label inside the Junction Box cover for the following steps:
Solution:
Faulty connection is indicating a faultTest:If there is continuity between pins 6 and 7 of the Junction Box connector, then check for any loose wiring in the Junction Box.
Solution:
Inverter Drive experiences an internal faultThe Inverter Drive's alphanumeric display shows a fault code. There are 26 different
internal fault codes: Contact the Creo Response Center if any of the above fault codes are displayed. Note: Fault code ov (over voltage) is due to the DC bus voltage exceeding 800 VDC - a result of the line voltage reaching 566 VAC (a power surge is enough to create the fault). Turn off the power to the unit using the disconnect switch. |
