- Check to see that vacuum generators are receiving compressed air by removing the tubes
that go into the inlet port of the vacuum generator and typing the command; "act drag
on" while in diagnostic mode. (hold the ends of the tubes steady to keep them from
flying around. If air does come out of the tubes, the vacuum generators will have to be
cleaned. Please refer to the section on vacuum generator maintenance.
- If air does not come out of the tubes, check the dragstrip solenoid valve (labeled
"TBL DRG"). If the valve is getting power when the "act drag on"
command is entered, the solenoid valve will have to be replaced.
- To check for loose vacuum boxes under the table, switch the air tubes that enter the
vacuum generators with those that exit the vacuum generators. Type in the "act drag
on " command. This will cause compressed air to come out of the drag holes as well as
any holes between the vacuum boxes and the table. With the table open, feel with the back
of your hand for any air leaks that may be coming from the interface between the vacuum
boxes and the table. If air leakage is felt, stop the airflow by typing "act drag
off" and seal up the area with "goop" sealant.
- If the vacuum is inconsistent across the table, the vacuum generators will have to be
cleaned. Refer to the section on vacuum
generator maintenance.
