Production hub carriage will not move on ThermoFlex Wide II

The Production hub carriage is stuck and will not move in either direction.

Cause

  

The carriage brake mechanism has failed.

Solution

   In order for the brake assembly to be repaired or replaced, the brake must be disabled and the carriage removed from the production hub arm. To disable the brake:
  1. Remove the two rubber bumpers from the top plate at the front of the hub arm.
  2. Use a slot screwdriver to remove the black plastic plug on the side of the carriage where the brake is located.
  3. Push the screwdriver through the hole on the side of the carriage and lever the most forward rubberized brake pad upwards away from the production hub arm surface. In the photo the carriage is removed to illustrate where to lever the brake pad.
  4. With the help of an assistant, hold the brake pad up and push the carriage off the end of the production hub arm.
  5. Repair or replace the brake mechanism and install the carriage onto the production hub arm.
