Kodak^® ThermoFlex^® Narrow Hybrid With Offset Option platesetter

Background

This procedure describes how to replace the registration bar and install a registration pin holder to enable working with offset plates.

Requirements

• Registration bar
• Registration pin holder

Note: This illustration shows the basic cross-punch solution. Cross-punch and customized solutions have a different number of pins and pin holes, and different pin hole shapes. For example, the yellow arrow points to a square pin hole.

Procedure

Replacing the registration bar

The following procedure applies to both cross-punch and customized solutions.

1. In the ThermoFlex Controller software, open the top door.
2. Open the unloading tray.
3. Remove the four hex screws on the right registration bar.
   
4. Insert two long hex screws into two of the hex screw holes and then use the screws to lift out the registration bar.
   
5. Insert the new registration bar.
6. Insert and tighten the four screws that you removed in step 3.
7. Repeat steps 3 to 6 on the left registration bar.

Installing the registration pin holder

1. Open the platesetter's right door.
2. Holding the registration pin holder as shown, insert and tighten the two screws.
   
3. Thread the two connectors through the hole in the mainframe bracket, as shown in the photograph above.
4. Disconnect the interlock connector from the interlock Molex^® connector (shown in the photograph in step 6).
5. Attach the registration pin holder connector to the interlock Molex connector.
6. Attach the interlock connector to the registration pin holder Molex connector.

Test

• For the registration bar: Perform the test in the Test section of the Roller Replacement procedure.
• For the registration pin holder: Remove a registration pin from the pin holder, and then close all platesetter doors and verify that the following error message appears. Repeat this step for each registration pin.
  
• Load an offset plate and confirm that loading proceeds properly.
