To check for a faulty drum brake board:
- Turn off the machine.
- Remove the cables that are connected to J1 and J3 on the drum brake board (10-4795A-B:)
- Verify that the LED (DS1) on the drum brake board is off.
- Use the multimeter to measure the resistance (Ohms range) between the following connections:
- pin2 of J1 and pin3 of J1
- pin3 of J1 and pin4 of J1
- pin2 of J1 and pin4 of J1
Resistance should be approximately 5.0 +/-0.5 Ohms.
- Turn on the machine while cables to J1 and J3 are still disconnected.
- Verify that the LED (DS1) on the drum brake board is on.
- Use the multimeter to measure the resistance (Ohms range) between the following connections:
- pin2 of J1 and pin2 of J3
- pin3 of J1 and pin3 of J3
- pin4 of J1 and pin4 of J3
Resistance should be approximately 0.0 +/-0.5 Ohms.
- If the readings in steps 4 and 7 are within recommended range, the board is good. Go to step 9.
If the readings in steps 4 and 7 are not within recommended range, the board is faulty. Order a replacement board and use the procedure in Drum does not move to bypass the board until a new board is installed.
- Turn off the machine.
- Reconnect the cables that you removed in step 2.
