NOTE: You must install the version of Service Shell in this controlled release before downloading firmware in this controlled release.

Description

This release includes Service Shell 2.5 build 770, Xilinx 1.76, MCE Main firmware version 1.12.31, and MCE Slave version 1.04.11.

Major fixes and features

This controlled release is necessary for the carriage driver upgrade (FCO CA00752) and the unload table pulley upgrade (FCO CA02183).

See the release notes for each component for more information.

Time and Order to install and/or upgrade from previous release

Install in the order given. Total time - 2 hours (minimum).
Before you begin, review the Dependencies and the readme.txt file in the CR2.3 folder.

Task Time
Install or upgrade Service Shell - needed for checking head/mce f/w versions and for downloading the new f/w.
  • After installing the SS client, start the version checker applet.
  • If the system is pre-configured, version checking begins automatically.
  • Click Config. A dialog box prompts you for the controlled release config file.
  • Browse to the VersionConfig folder on the controlled release CD, select the version config file, and click Evaluate > Yes.
  • If a dialog box indicates that the device is not yet configured with controlled release version information, select Configure System > Next. Browse to the VersionConfig folder on the controlled release CD, select the version config file, and click Finish.

Check that device and all applications are functional including load/unload of small/medium/large size media 15 minutes
Demo and provide instructions on changes to customers 15 minutes
